Program Overview:
This Co-op Diploma Apprenticeship program enables students to train as apprentices in Electrician trade (309A) while obtaining a two-year post secondary engineering technician diploma in the Electrical Engineering field. Students obtain a thorough grounding in electrical engineering sciences and skills, including electrical circuits, maintenance of electrical instruments or devices, operation of electrical motors and power transmission as used in the industry.
Eight months of the program time is spent on a Co-op placement arranged by the college. The hours earned during the Co-op placement are counted towards the practical part of apprenticeship training.

- In-school theory and lab experience is combined, in this unique program.
- On the job experience in a paid co-op placement.

Eligibility
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or mature student status (19 years or older)
Academic Requirements
- English Grade 12 C or U or equivalent, or skills assessment.
- Math Grade 11 M, C or U or Grade 12 M, C or U, or equivalent, or skills assessment
Additional Requirements
- Submit questionnaire, resume and references to determine apprenticeship employability; an employer interview may be required

Apply at ontariocolleges.ca. Applications must be accompanied with the $95 non-refundable application fee (payable by credit card, certified cheque or money order). Direct payment or online banking is available.
Application guidelines:
- All applications must be submitted directly to ontariocolleges.ca.
- Applications will be equally considered if received on or before February 1st. Any application after the date will be considered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- For January admissions, offers of admission will be issued beginning in June.
- For May admissions, offers of admission will be issued beginning in January.
- Centennial College accepts applications for admission up to the 5th day of class for a semester as long as there are seats available in the program for the semester.
- Ontariocolleges.ca will be accepting applications for all semesters of the next academic year in late October to early November of the previous year.
Note: If you are a student applying through the "Second Career Strategy" with only one program, please apply through the Employment Training Centre for Second Career. Second Career Strategy is a funding initiative for those who have been laid-off and are in need of training.
