Admission Requirements

You are a Regular Visa Student if you meet one of the following criteria and are applying for a Post-Graduate Certificate or Fast Track program:

  • You do not have courses, diploma(s) or degree(s) at the postsecondary level or wish to transfer credits or apply for advanced standing in one of our programs.
  • You are not registered in a partner school or Centennial College international campus.

Admissions requirements at Centennial College vary for each program. Please go directly to our program explorer for specific academic requirements.

You must fulfill the following admission requirements in order to qualify as a Visa international student at Centennial College:

  • You must have academic standing equivalent to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). View a list of OSSD Equivalents.
  • You must meet the special course requirements of individual programs as listed in the program outline.

All applicants to Centennial College must demonstrate an acceptable level of English language proficiency in order to be considered for admission. For details visit our Language Proficiency Information page.

Admission to Certificate and Diploma Programs*

  1. International Application Form
  2. An Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent
  3. English Proficiency requirements for programs with English Level COMM 160/161 are as follows:
  • A minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based) or 80+ (internet based with no test below 20) - TOEFL code 9213, or
  • CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language Assessment) with an overall band score of 60

  3. Include transcripts for any post-secondary College/University courses or programs completed
  4. English Proficiency requirements for programs with English Level COMM 170/171 are as follows:
  • Minimum TOEFL score of 560 (paper-based) or 84+ (internet based with no test below 21), or
  • CAEL with an overall band score of 60 and Writing 60

Admission to a Graduate Program

(Fast Track Diploma, Post Graduate Diploma and Ontario Graduate Certificate Programs)

  2. An Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent
  3. English Proficiency requirements are as follows for consideration:
  • Minimum TOEFL score of 580 (paper-based) or 88+ (internet based with no test below 22), or
  • CAEL with an overall band score of 70 and Writing score 60

* Additional English language communications clinic sessions will be required & assigned for any single band score area below 6.5

Students who have an overall IELTS score higher than required for program admission, and have only one individual band score lower than our admission requirements, may submit their application for further review. This lower individual band score can only be half a band below our published admission requirements.

Transfer Students

You are an International Transfer Student if you meet one of the following criteria and are not applying for a Post-Graduate Certificate or Fast Track program:

  • You are registered in a partner school or Centennial College international campus.
  • You have courses, diploma(s) or degree(s) at the postsecondary level and wish to transfer credits or apply for advanced standing in one of our programs.
