Fee Schedule for the 2017-2018 Academic Year

Fees noted are estimated and are based on the 2016-2017 schedule. Tuition guidelines are established by the Ontario government and are subject to revision. Below are sample full-time fee summaries.

Students Taking a Full Time Program Part Time

Students who take less than 70% of the student contact hours and less than 66.6% of the courses required for the program of instruction in a given semester are considered part time for that semester and will be charged tuition based on the number of student contact hours in the courses they are taking.

Canadian part-time students are charged $6.38 for post-secondary and $11.75 for post-graduate per contact hour for courses they are registered in

International part-time students are charged $26.25 to $34.00 per contact hour for courses they are registered in

Canadian and international part-time students are charged health insurance and incidental fees. Incidental fees include student service fee, technology fee, student activity fee, and program incidental fees.

Fees Descriptions

Athletic and Wellness Levy/Facilities Fee - Building New Athletic and Wellness Centre

$75.00 levy collected each semester, $25.00 of levy allocated to athletic, recreation and wellness initiatives at each campus, $50.00 allocated to the construction and operations of the Athletics and Wellness Centre @ Progress Campus. In addition, $10 facilities fee is to support the facility operations of Athletuc and Wellness Centre. These operations would include overhead costs, furniture and equipment renewal and building improvements.

Bursary/Fundraising Fee

This fee is used to fund bursaries for students in financial need.

Career Services and COOP Education Administration Fees

Students enrolled in a co-operative education program will be charged an additional, non-refundable, administrative fee. Collection of the fees will commence with the semester in which the first Co-op Professional Practice subject is scheduled at the rate of $450.00 per work term. If a program contains more than one work-term, the co-op fee is billed in the semester prior to each subsequent work-term. The fee helps cover the various costs of services related to co-op education, such as career planning, student preparation, promotion, placement assistance, work-term monitoring and on-going liaison with employers.

Canadian Workplace Orientation Fee

International students enrolled in a co-operative education program will be charged an additional, non-refundable, Candian Workplace Orientation fee. Collection of the fees will commence with the semester in which the first Co-op Professional Practice subject is scheduled at the rate of $350.00 per work term. If a program contains more than one work-term, the co-op fee is billed in the semester prior to each subsequent work-term. The fee assist students to be more successful in their program prior to their first co-op semester so that more students can take advantage of this wonderful work and learn opportunity by meeting the eligibility requirements for the co-op semesters and continue to offer additional services through to graduation.

Health Insurance

This insurance was instituted by the student government to provide mandatory accident, illness coverage for students in a group plan format.

Information Technology and Copyright

Technology and Copyright Fees are charged each semester to all post-secondary students. The Information Technology Fee provides software licensing, electronic mail accounts, Internet access, Wi-Fi in the College and other technology-based resources. The mandatory Copyright Fee provides funding for copyright awareness, education, and compliance training; and for permissions, clearances and licences related to the reproduction and performance of materials (in print, digital and other formats) for educational purposes in compliance with the Copyright Act of Canada. International Student Support Fee

The International Student Support Fee supports the mental health of international students by providing access to counselling services that are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via different modalities including in-person, telephone and online.

Placement Assessment

There are numerous benefits and advantages for students through the implementation of new assessment practices at Centennial College.

Program Incidentals

Some programs may charge an incidental fee for special services, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training, Mask Fit testing or course materials.

Student Activities Fee

This fee is charged each semester to cover costs of running the Centennial College Student Association Incorporated (CCSAI), providing high level of programs and activities to students, revitalized campus recreation and intercollegiate athletics programming, increased support to Alumni, scholarships, publications, student events. Student Services Fee $159 fee collected each semester where $75 allocated to CCAAI, $75.00 allocated to Athletics, Recreation and Culture and $9 allocated to Alumni.

Student Center Building Fund/Facilities Fee

This fee is charged each semeter to contribute the development of student-center facilities. to support the facility operations of the Progress Campus and Ashtonbee Student Centres. These operations would include overhead costs, furniture and equipment renewal and building improvements.

Student Life

This fee is charged each semester to support enhanced strategic programmatic objectives in the areas of student orientation/transititions, service learning, leadership development and health and wellness, among others.

Student Services Fee

This fee is charged each semester to cover the cost of the graduation and convocatiion service, enrolment verification letters, sessional validation stickers.

Transforming the Future

This fee is charged each semester to encourage students to positively effect their physical environment at any campus.
