When do classes start and end?

  • Our Programs run Fall, Winter, and Summer semesters.

How often is EAP offered?

  • Three times a year - January, May, and September.

What level of English do I need to attend EAP?

  • You should have completed at least a beginner’s level English course prior to starting EAP.

How long does it take to complete EAP?

  • EAP has three levels: Level One (Basic), Level Two (Intermediate) and Level Three (Pre-college).  Each level is completed in one semester of 15-weeks. All three levels are offered each semester.
  • The length of study depends on the student's level of English.  New EAP students take a free language diagnostic test before starting the program to determine the correct level placement.

 Where do classes take place?

  • EAP is offered at the Ashtonbee Campus, 75 Ashtonbee Road, in the Warden/Eglinton area of Scarborough.  The campus is accessible by TTC.

What are the class hours?

  • Classes are held Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.  Timetables vary for each class.  Each week, student timetables consist of 19 hours of classroom instruction, plus 3 hours in the computer labs, and 3 hours of independent study.

How much does the program cost?

  • The current cost for Canadian residents is approximately $1,400 per semester.
  • The current cost for International visa students is approximately $6,200 per semester.
  • The current cost of textbooks is approximately $200 per semester for each level.

Is financial assistance available?

  • Financial assistance is available to qualified Ontario residents through the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP).  It is important to you to make arrangements for financial assistance before you begin your study.

Does attending The EAP Program make it easier to enter a Centennial College program?

  • Level Three EAP students who pass all their classes, and who achieve a final grade of B in the EAPP Reading and Writing classes, do not have to take the College’s Language Assessment Test.  They have automatic entry to COMM 161 which is the first English course in most Centennial College programs.

Do students receive a certificate upon completion of the program?

  • Students who successfully complete at least two levels of the EAP Program, one of which must be Level Three, receive an Ontario College Certificate.
