What We Do
If you are out of work and not attending school, the Job Connect program can help you find a job. Funded by the government of Ontario’s Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, this free program features three components:

1. Employment Resource Centre
Open to all community members aged 16 years or older, this employment resource centre enables you to pursue a self-directed job search. You can research employment and educational opportunities and learn about community services that are available. You will be able to search for jobs on the Internet as well as produce résumés on the computer. Participants have access to an array of employment workshops including those on how to write an effective résumé and how to access an apprenticeship. Free photocopying and fax services are also available.

2. One-to-One Employment Coaching and Employment Skills Workshops
If you are between the ages of 16 and 24, you may participate in this component of the Job Connect program. Through one-to-one advice and employment skills workshops, you will learn to set a career goal, develop an action plan, enhance your job search skills, create a résumé, learn effective interviewing techniques and gain access to on-the-job training.

3. Job Development Placement Service
Centennial College offers participants access to paid job-training services and possibly access to an apprenticeship of their choice. During on-the-job training, participants acquire relevant job skills, up-to-date work experience and eventually full-time employment with loca employers. Our Job Development Coach will work with individuals to identify the right employer to provide training. Also, employers who participate in Job Connect may receive a training subsidy to offset costs related to training.
