Applying for Transfer Credit

Students who have successfully completed a General Education course(s) at another college/university in Canada or at an accredited college or university in another country, may be eligible to apply for a transfer credit. ALL GNED Transfer Credit Application must go through the GNED Department.

Step 1 - Obtain a Transfer Credit Form
Students can obtain a transfer credit application form at the Student Enrolment Services Offices, at the English and General Education offices, or download an application.

Step 2 - Fill Out the Form (Please use additional forms if applying for more than one transfer)

• Completely fill the form by providing all necessary information. Be sure to include name, student identification and the program presently enrolled in
• If you are seeking credit for a program mandated GNED course, you must identify the Centennial GNED course by name and code. You also need to identify the course you successfully completed (minimum C grade) at a previous institution. Attach the course description with learning outcomes. Only those courses whose learning outcomes match those of the program mandated GNED course will be considered for credit.
• Students who attended an accredited university or another college and have successfully completed courses that are considered to be General Education are eligible to apply for transfer credit (OACs are not eligible for general education credit). A subject-related equivalent course is required for the program-mandated General Education course. It is not required for elective courses. A minimum "C" grade is required for transfer credit course approval. Transfer credit will not be granted for the GNED 500 course.

Step 3 - Attach Supporting Documentation

• Original, official transcript indicating course and grade from the other educational institution.
• A detailed course outline.

Step 4 - Submit the Form
Submit the transfer credit Application Form to the General Education office at your campus:

• The Centre for Creative Communication: Communications Office
• Centennial HP Science & Technology Centre: Room 336
• Progress: Room E2-29

Note:  Friday, May 13, 2011 is the deadline to submit completed Transfer of Credit application forms and supporting documentation for summer 2011 semester.
