About Centennial
Established as Toronto's first public college in 1966, Centennial College offers programs in business, communications, community and health studies, science and engineering technology, general arts, hospitality and transportation.
 

Formerly LBS (Literacy and Basic Skills) / OBS (Ontario Basic Skills)

Our tuition-free Academic Upgrading program offers you the opportunity to get hands-on experience for the job market, along with help reaching your employment goals. Improve your communications, math and computer skills while you prepare to enter college programs or employment.

The Academic Upgrading program offers:

  • tuition-free academic upgrading for adults
  • preparation for skills training courses, apprenticeships, post-secondary (college) programs or employment
  • continuous intake (average program length is 16 weeks)
  • math, communications, computers and self-management courses
  • a supportive learning environment
  • mentors who will work closely with you to help determine appropriate career and post-secondary goals

This program is offered at the Ashtonbee campus at 75 Ashtonbee Road (one block north of Eglinton Avenue East, west of Warden Avenue).
