Submitting an Ethics Application

Preparing for ethics review:

Before you begin, familiarize yourself with the Ethics Review Procedure document. This document outlines what work needs to go through an ethics review and describes the Centennial College process. We strongly recommend that you use the Standards for Assessing Applications document as a guide when you prepare your application. This document provides key information to ensure that your application is complete.

When you are ready to submit your application for ethics review, complete and submit the REB application form by email to ethics@centennialcollege.ca.

Please note : If you are a researcher who is planning to conduct a study at several Ontario community colleges, Centennial College is pleased to announce that our Research Ethics Board will now accept the Multi-site Ethics Application Form.

The review process typically takes 10 to 30 days depending on the nature of your study. Once the REB has approved your study, submit a final signed copy with the Freedom of Information form by email to ethics@centennialcollege.ca. Submit a signed copy of those documents:

  • In Person, by Courier or Inter-office Mail to:

While the study is underway:

If a study continues for more than one year, the researcher must submit an annual renewal form. If any changes are made to the study, the researcher must submit an amendment form before proceeding. Submit these forms to ethics@centennialcollege.ca

When the study is completed:

At the end of the study, the researcher must submit a completion form to ethics@centennialcollege.ca.
