Culture and Heritage Institute

About Centennial
Established as Toronto's first public college in 1966, Centennial College offers programs in business, communications, community and health studies, science and engineering technology, general arts, hospitality and transportation.

Welcome to the Culture and Heritage Institute!

According to the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), global cultural and heritage tourism is growing by an unprecedented 15 per cent per year, and emerging as one of the core genres of the travel and related industries.

In order to address this growing demand for cultural and heritage tourism, the Culture and Heritage Institute was established. The Institute has evolved to help the tourism sector retool for this specific type of travel by providing unique learning and cultural opportunities in tourism education; the Institute offers an array of conferences, workshops, festivals and lectures related to the commemoration and preservation of culture and heritage.

In essence, the Culture and Heritage Institute brings together students, educators, industry, government and community stakeholders, providing a vibrant, inclusive and dependable platform for collaborative learning, engagement, and networking.

Building on a Bold Concept
Our mandate exemplifies the kind of innovation Centennial College has become known for: creating exciting educational and cultural opportunities for our students and the greater community. After all, investing in cultural tourism is an investment in a strong and prosperous economy, thus providing a high quality of life for all.

Centennial College believes an investment in the Culture and Heritage Institute will be beneficial to its students, the local community and to business and industry. It will help open the doors of the world to the Greater Toronto Area and open the doors of the Greater Toronto Area to the world.
