Our Triannual Magazine

The Global Citizen Digest is a conduit for sharing, discussing, and exploring the meaning of ‘global citizenship’.  What does it mean to be a global citizen? What issues and concerns affect this meaning?  How and where do education, our experiences, local/global relationships and other such circumstances intersect? The Digest is a publication that encourages us to think about the following broad themes:

  1. Global knowledge
  2. Understanding the interconnectedness of our world
  3. Intercultural competence in relating to those from other cultures
  4. Engagement in local and global issues that impact humanity

Volume 1, Issue 1 of the Digest focuses on the topic of Biodiversity.  Although this issue contains several engaging articles, there are a couple you should be sure to definitely check-out, such as the article written by Clint Jacobs and Sean Sands on the First Nation community of Bkejwanong, which discusses some of the conservation successes, challenges, and concerns within this community. Also, be sure to flip to page 26 to read an article written by Manjeet Kang, which is also quite thought provoking as it connects-the-dots between gender and biodiversity.
