Diarmuid O’Connor enters his 7th season as the head coach of the women’s outdoor and indoor soccer programs. Coach O’Connor holds a close connection to Centennial, as when he is not coaching on the pitch he serves as a coordinator and professor in the school’s Hospitality Services program.

Coach O’Connor brings a list of credentials to the Centennial Colts program. He holds a Canadian Level C and Provincial Level B coaching license as well as a goalkeeping certificate. In addition to his certifications he has coached in numerous leagues across Ontario including the OYSL, OSL, OWSL, CSL, CESL and DSL.  Coach O’Connor has held staff coaching positions with various soccer organizations, including 15 years with Ajax FC and 5 years with the Ontario Soccer Association. For the 2012 season Coach O’Connor was named the CCAA Coach of the Year Nominee for Ontario and the OCAA Women's Soccer East Division Coach of the Year.

It is this level of skill, experience and commitment that brings about excellence that Diarmuid O’Connor hopes to develop in all his players at Centennial College as he attempts to return the Colts to the top of the OCAA in the years to come.

Assistant Coach: Ashley Fernie

Ashley Fernie the assistant coach of the Centennial Women’s Soccer team has been coaching alongside Head Coach Diarmuid O'Connor for the past 7 years. Ashley has also been the Assistant Coach of the Ajax Women’s Regional Soccer team for the past 5 years. She has acquired the Child, Youth and Senior Community Coaching Licenses.

Ashley is an Alumnus of Centennial College having graduated from the Police Foundation’s Program. Ashley was a standout player on the Women’s varsity Soccer team receiving Athlete of the Year in both years that she played for the college. Ashley Fernie has been playing soccer since the age of 3 and is an avid fan of the game. Under Coach O’Connor’s and Fernie’s guidance they have been able to grow the program to new heights winning a Bronze Medal in Provincials in 2012.  Ashley looks forward to continuing to build not only the soccer program but the athletes and athletics in general at Centennial.
