The Centennial Colts men’s volleyball team rejoins competition this year in 2015 as part of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association’s (OCAA) East Region. Centennial will take up competition against schools from across Ontario, from the GTA to Ottawa. Led by head coach Alain Arseneau the Colts volleyball team hopes to play an exciting upbeat fast paced style of volleyball. Alain is looking to build a long term program that will achieve great success here at Centennial.

Centennial College has a long successful history in Volleyball dating back to the 80's when Centennial was a powerhouse in the OCAA. The Men's Volleyball team won Gold in 1987-1988 and went on to Nationals. In 1986-1987 and 1988-1989 they won a Silver Medal. Also in 1984-1985 and 1985-1986 they were Bronze Medalists. Former Olympian and Centennial College alumnus John Child was named as the coordinator of Centennial’s newly restored men’s and women’s volleyball programs. It’s a fitting homecoming for Child, who played varsity volleyball at Centennial’s DEL Gym while studying business administration, honing his skills for what would become his Olympic victory just five years after graduating in 1991. John was also inducted into the OCAA as well as Centennial COLTS Hall of fame.

The season runs from early October through until mid-February. Starting new for 2015 the Colts will play a 20 game home and away schedule, which includes 10 home games at the Progress Campus AWC state of the art facility.

Academic / Athletic Awards are available through a selection process to those student athletes that have demonstrated excellence on and off the field of play. Application forms are available in the Athletics and Recreation Office. (Progress Campus – Athletic and Wellness Center Room AWC 104)

New players are always welcome, but to be eligible to compete at the varsity level, players must be full-time Centennial College students and maintain solid academic standing throughout the year.

Players are encouraged to contact the coach if they are interested in trying out for the team.
