Head Coach: Matthew Cheung

Matthew Cheung takes over the newly resurrected Centennial COLTS Women’s Varsity Volleyball program.

Matthew was a York University Varsity Men's Volleyball Player from 2000 - 2003 where he won an OUA Silver Medal in 2003.  He then continued to play volleyball for the Connex Men's Volleyball team from 2000 - 2013 winning 5 NACIVT Championships.

As a coach Mr. Cheung has been with TOPS Volleyball as a coach since 2006. In 2007 he took over the Connex Women's Volleyball program and has gone on to win 4 NACIVT Championships. Matt is committed to volleyball having coached club volleyball with the Markham Stingers from 2012-2014 and most recently he joined the Leaside Volleyball program as a Coach.

Matthew is also a Mathematics Professor teaching at various Colleges and Universities throughout the GTA area. We are glad to have Mr. Cheung join our staff here at Centennial

Assistant Coach: Bronson Chu

Womens Volleyball Assistant Coach Bronson Chu

Bronson Chu has come to Centennial after finishing a successful season with the 18U Scarborough Titans Revolution. Bronson’s coaching career began at the grassroots level. He has served as both the Assistant and Head Coach to Wexford’s Collegiate Boys and Girls team. Bronson also serves as the head coach of the NACIVT Gold Flight Team Kinex. He believes in the importance of athletics when it comes to teaching students to overcome adversity, both on and off the court.  Bronson Chu joins Centennial College excited to be a part of the program’s return to the OCAA.

Outside of Volleyball, Bronson is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Education. He also coaches Swimming and Ultimate Frisbee where he won the TDsSAA East region championships. Bronson has also produced several OFSAA, College and University bound athletes.

Assistant Coach: Stéphanie Lagacé

Womens Volleyball Assistant Coach Bronson Chu

Lagacé stated coaching with her previous club Bleu et Or Volleyball while playing at U of Moncton. Upon graduation Stephanie was a community “mini-volleyball” coach for 7-8 yr. old kids. More recently, she has been involved with the Jr. & Sr. Varsity Boys teams at St. Michael’s College and the Jr. Girls team at Bishop Strachan.

Stéphanie has been playing competitive volleyball for over ten years.  At high school she played Jr. and Sr. Varsity at ESN High School in Bathurst, NB. She later moved to Moncton, NB to join the “Bleu et Or” development program where she competed at the Francophone Games (Edmonton 2008), the National Team Challenge Cup (Calgary 2008), Team New Brunswick (2006-2007) and the Francophone Games (Winnipeg 2005). Stephanie then joined the University of Moncton Women’s varsity team where she was an AUS (Atlantic University Sport) Championship winner in 2009 and participation in the CIS Championship.

Lagacé recently moved to Toronto to pursue a Nursing career and looks forward to working with the Women’s Varsity Volleyball team at Centennial as an Assistant.

Assistant Coach: Everest Fabro-Valdez

Everest is new to coaching recently taking on the assistant role here at Centennial for the Womens Volleyball program. He also is the Extramural Coed Volleyball team's Head coach. Everest is a Centennial College Rec & Leisure graduate and former placement student with the Athletics & Recreation department. He is well versed in working within the department. He looks forward to growing with the team into a formidable coach over the upcoming years.
