Established as Toronto's first public college in 1966, Centennial College offers programs in business, communications, community and health studies, science and engineering technology, general arts, hospitality and transportation.

Note: Candidates cannot register directly to Centennial College for these programs. To register to an apprenticeship program, you must currently be employed as an apprentice.

Before Seeking Apprenticeship

Candidates must have the following:

  • Ontario secondary school diploma or equivalent

Ministry Services
  1. Visit the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities website or call 1-800-387-5656 to speak with an employment counsellor.
  2. From the Ministry's website you can find out what careers are in demand, which trades require certification and learn more about apprenticeship programs. 
  3. If you are currently not working for an employer who hires apprentices, and/or have the credentials to work in the engineering field, then the ministry provides services to find an employer who may register you as an apprentice.
  4. The ministry will provide financial aid during your apprenticeship, if required.
  5. The ministry also provides employment services to help you on your path through apprenticeship.

Registration

Once you have found an employer and registered as an apprentice, the ministry will forward your registration to Centennial College where you will begin your training.
