Fellow professor, colleague, peer, and friend is retiring from Centennial this summer after 24 years of dedication to the college. If you have ever met or chatted with Gary, you will instantly agree on his always smiling and cheerful persona, his sense of humour, and the fact that he is a person you can always count on. Most of us at SHTC know he is a really good friend. Almost everyone has a fond memory or story to share... be it Doug Rapley -former Chair- who shared accommodations with him, or any of our faculty who readily recount numerous anecdotes or Verona who has known him since 1986, at the beginning of their time together at Centennial! Often vouched as the ‘Best Chair we've ever had' (sorry Doug, Shyam), Gary also holds other coveted titles- ‘Best Dressed', ‘Never in a bad mood', and ‘Best One Liners'. The truth is, most of us look up to Gary as a mentor who'll always point out the silver lining in a cloud and genuinely compliment you on your work.
Just ask anyone* at the School and they will each tell you more on the charming gentleman who has better summer plans this year than most of us!
*People you should not ask: Doug, Verona, Sue, Jacques, Diarmuid *People you should ask: Shyam,...ahm... Shyam, umm.. have we said Shyam?
