Registration FAQs

Do you have necessary course prerequisites?
To register for certain courses or programs, you must meet specific, identified prerequisites or requirements prior to registration. These are included below the course description.

Examples include:

  • successful completion of course A before taking course B;
  • holding a current College of Nurses Certificate of Competence before taking certain health science courses. You will be asked to present your certificate to your instructor for verification during your first class;
  • obtaining printed material prior to your first class for some courses, e.g., first aid and CPR certificates.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the necessary prerequisites prior to registration. You may be asked to withdraw if you do not have the necessary requirements. This may come with the risk of academic and/or financial penalty.

Do you meet general college eligibility requirements?
For most college courses, the Ontario government requires that you be either 18 years old, or have earned an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.

Have you paid course fees?
All required fees must be paid before you are registered and given a timetable. Where fees are to be paid by a third party (for example, a government agency), special procedures exist.

For more details, please call 416-289-5300 or visit any campus Enrolment Services office.

When can I register?
You may register now for any course listed in our annual calendar. Please register early as some courses fill quickly or may be cancelled because of insufficient enrollment numbers.

  • For most courses, you must register before the first scheduled class.
  • For courses with more than four sessions, you may be able to register up to the start of the second scheduled class, or until the course has reached its maximum enrolment. However, you must meet necessary course/program requirements and pay required fees.
