Varsity women’s soccer at Centennial College gives women a chance to take the pitch and go head to head against other colleges from across Ontario. The Centennial Colts play in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association’s East Region and always represent their school with hard work and tough play. The season runs from early September through mid-October. The Colts will play their 4 home games at Birchmount Stadium while road contests will see the team travelling as far away as Ottawa. In addition to the outdoor season, the Colts participate in the OCAA indoor soccer season. Beginning in January 2012 the team will play a series of tournaments in preparation for the OCAA Regional and Provincial Championships. The team’s first tournament will be in late January, hosted by Centennial College. Academic / Athletic Awards are available through a selection process to those student athletes that have demonstrated excellence on and off the field of play. Application forms are available in the Athletics and Recreation Department. (Progress Campus – Student Centre RM 2A /2B) Varsity Colts receive an official Centennial track suit and sport bag upon selection to the team. Transportation, accommodation and a meal subsidy are provided when the team is on the road. Head coach Diarmuid O’Connor is always looking for new players to join the Colts, but new players must be full-time Centennial College students and maintain solid academic standards throughout the year in order to play.
