Air Canada Jazz Scholarships Award: $1,000 Number of Awards: 2 Awarded to: Aviation Technicians Air Canada Jazz has again generously provided two scholarship opportunities for students who have completed their first year in our Aviation Technician Programs: Aircraft Maintenance 8112 and Avionics Maintenance 8113. These awards are to recognize the academic excellence of students enrolled and successfully moving into their second year of study. To ensure equitable award distribution within the programs, these two scholarships must be awarded to two individual students. Air Canada Jazz Excellence Award: $1,000 Number of Awards: 1 No Application Required - Selection: Student will be selected as part of the 2009 Dean's Scholarship List. The Air Canada Jazz Excellence Scholarship will be awarded to the student who is enrolling fulltime in Fall 2009 in the second year of Program 8112 or 8113 who possesses the highest cumulative grade point average. In the event there are two students sharing the same highest cumulative grade point average, the faculty of the School of Transportation will choose which student will be the recipient of the Air Canada Jazz Excellence Scholarship. Air Canada Jazz has dedicated the resources to support a student with the highest cumulative grade point average, who is enrolling fulltime in Fall 2009 in the second year of Program 8112 or 8113, and who self identifies as belonging from an identified employment equity group. If you plan to enroll fulltime in Program 8112 or 8113 in the Fall 2009 and have earned a cumulative grade point average of a minimum 3.0, and self identify as one of the noted employment equity groups, you may be eligible to receive this scholarship. Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible to apply for this scholarship applicants must: - enroll fulltime in Fall 2009 in the second year of Program 8112 or 8113 ( PS 3 or 4)
- possess a minimum cumulative gpa of 3.0 - the student with the highest cumulative grade point average identified coming from one of the employment equity groups, will be the successful recipient of the scholarship
- self-identification of the employment equity group to which you belong
Deadline: Friday, September 25, 2009 4:30 PM The completed application must be received by this deadline for eligibility consideration. Selection: A Selection Committee will be developed to review the eligible submissions. The student with the highest cumulative GPA who self identifies as belonging to an employment equity group will be the recipient of the Air Canada Jazz Employment Equity Scholarship. In the event there are two students thusly identified with the same highest cumulative GPA, the faculty of the School of Transportation will choose which student will be the recipient of the Air Canada Jazz Employment Equity Scholarship.
