Speaker Series: Justice Harvey Browstone

Are you interested in hearing a judge's perspective about family law? Come and hear Mr. Justice Harvey Brownstone speak on Monday January 25th at 10:30 am in the Student Center.
Mr. Justice Brownstone is not only a family court judge who has presided over the North Toronto Family Law Court for over 14 years but is also a very well known author. Mr. Brownstone's book entitled Tug of War: A Judge's Verdict on Separation, Custody Battles and the Bitter Realities of Family Court provides some extremely interesting insights into family law and provides a glimpse of what an actual judge thinks of the family law court system. The book's target audience is primarily parents who are going through a separation and encourages parents to seek other alternatives rather than messy litigation. Mr. Brownstone has been interviewed on radio and television at least 80 times and most recently was featured in an article in the Toronto Star. Interestingly, Mr. Brownstone donates all of the proceeds of his book to the Children's Wish Foundation. Come and learn about family law and ways to avoid using the court system!
