Fall 2008's Contest Winners Annonced!

The results are in! Sean Bailey is the winner of the President for a Day contest.
Sean, a graduate from Centennial’s journalism program, is currently enrolled in the one-year Corporate Communications and Public Relations program at the Centre for Creative Communication. The President for a Day contest was launched on Centennial’s Facebook page in October 2008. Students posted their photos and a statement of why they should be voted for President for a Day.
Sean Bailey won 34.4 per cent of the 489 votes for his suggestions to promote diversity at the College through all aspects of Centennial life. He also suggested holding events for mature students, finding ways for students across the four Centennial campuses to connect, and promoting green initiatives.
The runner ups were Viktor Zaystev with 31.9 per cent of the votes and Margaret House-Gava with 22.3 per cent. The contest generated a lot of activity – more than 500 visitors checked out Centennial’s Facebook to read the submissions.
As the grand prize winner, Sean will receive an iPod Touch and spend a half day with College President Ann Buller and a half day with Student Association President Tahir Khan. Viktor and Margaret will receive gift cards from the College bookstore.
To claim and collect the prize, winners must bring his/her Centennial College student ID along with another piece of valid photo ID. Thanks to everyone who participated in this fun event! |
