Introducing a Unique Learning Opportunity for Centennial College Students: Our first International Service Learning Project and Scholarship. Are you a Centennial College student who is interested in the world around you? Would you like to take the learning that you have gained in through your program at this time, and share it by taking it to a community development project setting in the Dominican Republic that works to improve the lives of children in poor, small rural communities. We are introducing the opportunity for interested Centennial College students to apply to participate in service learning project from March 6 - 20th, 2010. The experience will be funded for each selected student participant through a scholarship that will cover the expenses of food, travel, accommodations, health insurance and all costs associated with scheduled activities for each selected candidate. The aim of this service learning project in the Dominican Republic is to empower students to address the issues of global citizenship and social justice while participating in a cultural immersion setting of living and working in a small community for the two week period.
