Massage Therapy students reach out to the community

On Oct. 4, students and faculty from the Massage Therapy program attended the Run for the Cure charity event in Oshawa and provided therapeutic massages to 70 runners and walkers taking part in the road race.

Centennial’s successful Massage Therapy program continues to provide community outreach services to both raise the profile of the program and assist local residents with their health concerns.

On Sunday, October 4, 13 students and two faculty members from the Massage Therapy program attended the Run for the Cure charity event in Oshawa and provided massages to 70 runners and walkers taking part in the road race.

On Friday, Oct. 31, students will offer a free infant massage under the direction of a Registered Massage Therapist to newborn infants up to the age of 12 months. The hours of the free clinic are from 10 am to noon. And on Saturday, Nov. 8, students will offer a free one-hour therapeutic massage to women in their second or third trimester of pregnancy. Please share the news with friends and neighbours who may be eligible.

Both events are taking place in the second-floor clinic at the Centennial Morningside Campus, 755 Morningside Avenue (northeast corner of Morningside and Ellesmere). For an appointment or for more details, please call 416-289-5353.
