Green Fee funding for summer 2009 has been approved. We are very pleased that these project ideas have come through and we will start on them immediately.

Solar Green @ Progress, $51,000
Campus Student Centre
Funding for the installation of a photovoltaic solar system (5 kw power output) on the Student Centre @ Progress roof.

2009 Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup Event, $10,000
Funding for this annual event hosted by the Centennial College Environmental Student Society for the purchase of food, drinks and mementos for participants.

Athletic and Wellness Centre Solar Hot Water Storage, $93,250
Funding for a purchase and installation of solar hot water storage system and associated equipment.

Athletic and Wellness Centre Liquid Chilled Water System, $146,750
Funding for the purchase and installation of a water system with storage, which utilizes ice-making and pumping capabilities.

East York Campus Revitalization, $10,000
Funding for the establishment of a working group of key stakeholders in the East York campus community to determine the best model and design for the courtyard.

What is the Green Fee? 
The Student Green Fee was introduced in 2006 to fund initiatives that have a positive impact on students by supporting socially responsible green practices on college campuses. The fee is not intended to offset college expenses. Rather, it is designed to support projects that are non-academic in scope and sustainable, in turn reducing the carbon footprint of Centennial College. Do you have an idea that's Going for the Green?
