MTV and CTV personality Sol Guy of the popular series 4REAL will be speaking, sharing TV clips and hosting an interactive forum on global citizenship at Progress Campus on Thursday, March 5. And you're invited to join us! Sol Guy has been an influential contributor to the rise of urban music over the last 11 years. His life took a fateful turn in 2001 when he was invited to Sierra Leone, West Africa by Warchild Canada as a featured guest in the award-winning documentary Musicians In The War Zone. He has since created 4REAL, which aims to be socially relevant and provide economic empowerment by taking celebrity guests on global adventures to connect with young people who, under extreme circumstances, are affecting real change. The goal of Centennial's interactive forum is to expose students to various parts of the world - like Brazil, Yawanawa, Kenya, Liberia, Haiti and many more - that have community-based activism programs, which work to combat important issues affecting each region. You're invited to share your journey towards understanding the importance of global citizenship through your learning at Centennial. Local community organizations and high schools have also been invited to share insights on the importance of global citizenship in today's world. All are welcome!
