Bloggers from across North America will be converging at Centennial College for two days of networking, learning, discussing and socializing at a unique blogging/social media conference. WordCamp Toronto will be hosted by the Centennial College Student Association Inc. on October 4 and 5. Bloggers, students, digital marketing experts and public relations professionals will be drawn to the two-day conference to enhance their blogging knowledge and share ideas. Matt Mullenweg, the creator of WordPress, the largest blogging platform in the world, will be the conference’s keynote speaker. Matt is responsible for the creation of millions of blogs around the world. Students from Centennial’s Corporate Communications and Public Relations program are volunteering as the conference hosts. This is a great opportunity for students to meet some of the most influential public relations practitioners in Canada and learn more about social media, which is now part of their public relations curriculum. WordCamp Toronto will take place at Centennial College’s Progress Campus Student Centre on the weekend of Oct. 4 and 5. General admission is $25; students are eligible for a $10 discount.
