Applied Research and Innovation

Established in 1966, Centennial College is Ontario’s first community college. Our mission to educate students for career success has made us a leader among our peers.

We are proud to be one of Canada’s most culturally diverse post-secondary institutions: nearly 100 ethno-cultural groups are represented and 80 languages are spoken on campus. We offer our international population a distinctive, comprehensive education through our Signature Learning Experience. This unique educational experience implements the principles of global citizenship, social justice and equity. Consequently, our graduates have a sophisticated understanding of the world beyond the classroom walls and an insight that transcends the skills their chosen field requires of them. Our exceptional Global Citizenship & Equity (GCE) Education prepares students to prosper in the international marketplace.

We are equally dedicated to driving innovation and entrepreneurship, as outlined in our bold, groundbreaking Book of Commitments. We have isolated innovation and entrepreneurship as “essential skills” that are relevant to every sector of our economy and should therefore be available to everyone, not only a chosen few. We must ingrain these invaluable skills and their cultural and commercial significance into our social fabric. For this tremendous vision to become a reality, we have committed to implementing innovation and entrepreneurship into every aspect of our curriculum. The Applied Research and Innovation Centre (ARIC) plays no small role in this.

Our esteemed Applied Research and Innovation Centre (ARIC) creates and assists entrepreneurs who are driven by more than financial gain, that is, by the development of a sustainable, civil society. ARIC is a catalyst for growth, creating dynamic partnerships between students, faculty and their impressive roster of industry partners. Together, ARIC supports and advances learning, applied research, innovation and solutions that transform the lives of our communities.
