The focus of the Automotive Service Technician Ford Asset (MAP 32) program is on teaching you Ford's latest technology, with a specific emphasis on electronics and the diagnosing of vehicle management systems.

Every four weeks you alternate between the college and your employer for a total of 64 weeks (32 weeks with each). During the 32 weeks of in-class Ford Automotive Service Technician training, your studies are tailored to Ford's latest lineup and all aspects of vehicle technology are embodied. As a result, you learn everything about the electronics and vehicle management systems of one of North America's most respected and legendary brands.

You are required to successfully complete the following five courses:

  • Motor Vehicle Gear Trains
  • Electrical/Electronics & Fuel Systems
  • Motor Vehicle Engine Systems
  • Applied Work Practices and Procedures
  • Suspension/Steering and Brakes

Upon finishing the offering, you will complete your on-the-job experience with a Ford employer.

Academic Requirements

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or General Educational Development (GED)

Additional Requirements

Applicants must be employed by a Ford Motor Company of Canada Ltd. dealership.


  • Applicants must secure employment with a Ford Motor Company of Canada Ltd. dealership and then register as a MAP apprentice with the apprenticeship branch of the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
