Data Acquisition and Interfacing
|Lecture hours per week|
|Lab hours per week|
|Description:||Data Acquisition and Interfacing is designed to introduce the student to computer interfacing technology using LabVIEW and Microsoft Visual C++ software. In CTEC311, students will learn to design, interface, configure and trouble-shoot data acquisition systems. This includes hardware/software configuration, digital/analog signals, and signal conditioning. Interfacing with PC using LabVIEW will be explored in different ways. For example, students will use the Serial and Educational Laboratory Virtual Instrumentation Suite (ELVIS) unit. This course is a combination of theory and lab experience. Lab experiments are performed in the Windows XP environment using LabVIEW and high level C language. Students will also interface external hardware with the BUS through device driver software.
