Description: This course will introduce students to ideas and research that will help them understand the structure of Canada’s broadcasting industry and the issues and trends facing it. The course will cover topics pertaining to radio, television, newspapers, the film industry, and the Internet. The curriculum is grounded in the concepts, theories, and studies encountered in the text and readings. In class, students will have an opportunity to share their thoughts and debate many of the prevailing issues. The course will also feature presentations by guests from the broadcasting industry.
