RPN Bridging to University Nursing
The RPN Bridging to University Nursing offering is an academic pathway that will assist registered practical nurses (RPNs) to bridge to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in approximately three years.
This program, which is under the School of Community and Health Studies umbrella, offers a curriculum is based on the College of Nurses’ Standards of Practice for Nursing and Entry to Practice Competencies for Ontario Registered Nurses.
Courses will provide a foundation for nursing practice by emphasizing:
- Ethics and professional practice;
- Health assessment;
- Skill mastery;
- Caring for clients with acute and chronic illness.
An exciting and unique aspect of the RPN Bridging to University Nursing program will be its focus on caring for individuals, groups and communities in acute care, mental health and community settings.
You will apply theoretical knowledge in clinical settings under the direction, facilitation and guidance of faculty.
Please note: To take this program, you must be a RPN who holds a diploma from a community college of applied arts and technology (CAAT) with a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher and containing no repeated courses or failures on your academic transcript.
