Frequently Asked Questions for Part-time students

Q: When can I register?
A: For most courses, you must register before the first scheduled class. Please register early as some courses fill quickly or may be cancelled because of insufficient enrollment numbers. For courses with more than four sessions, you may be able to register up to the start of the second scheduled class, or until the course has reached its maximum enrolment. However, you must meet necessary course/program requirements and pay required fees.

Q: Do I meet general college eligibility requirements?
A: For most college courses, the Ontario government requires that you be either 18 years old, or have earned an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.

Q: Do I have necessary course prerequisites?
To register for certain courses or programs, you must meet specific, identified prerequisites or requirements prior to registration. These are included in the course description. Examples include: successful completion of course A before taking course B; holding a current College of Nurses Certificate of Competence before taking certain health science courses or obtaining printed material prior to your first class for some courses, e.g., first aid and CPR certificates.

Q: When do I have to pay my course fees?
A: All required fees must be paid before you are registered and given a timetable. Where fees are to be paid by a third party (for example, a government agency), special procedures exist. For more details, please call 416-289-5300 or visit any campus Enrolment Services office.
