Program Admission Session vs. English Skills Assessment

At The Centre for Creative Communications we want to be sure that you begin your studies with everything you need to be successful in your program.  This means meeting a minimum English requirement for post-secondary programs and satisfying a supplementary requirement (ie: writing test, portfolio review, attendance at an info session) for most of our post secondary and post graduate programs.

PROGRAM ADMISSION SESSIONS
For most post-secondary and post-graduate programs at The Centre you MUST attend a Program Admission Session to complete some non-academic requirements. These can include writing tests (different from English Assessment); math tests, submitting resumes or letters of support, submitting a portfolio of work or a combination of some of the above.

For full details of admission requirements, visit the “Apply” link for your chosen program.

TRANSCRIPTS

High School Applicants:
When you apply through ontariocolleges.ca your transcripts will be sent directly from your high school. If you are currently enrolled in a Grade 12 English class, we will make an estimate based on your most recent English mark but you must still meet the English requirement and obtain your OSSD (Ontario Secondary School Diploma) before beginning your program.

If there is a chance that your grade does/will not meet the required program, you can still qualify by writing our English Skills Assessment**

Non-secondary Applicants
If you apply as a mature student or from a post-secondary institution, you must contact your most recent school and ask for a copy of your transcripts (high school or post secondary) to be sent to ontariocolleges.ca.

If you do not have access to official transcripts or have been out of school for many years, you can still qualify by writing our English Skills Assessment**

Post Graduate Programs
There are no high school English requirements for our post-graduate programs however you should contact the Registrar's Office from your post-secondary institution and have official transcripts forwarded to ontariocolleges.ca. Once we have verified your post-secondary transcripts, we will send a letter advising you how to meet your supplementary requirements.

**English Skills Assessments for Admission

If you do not have access to recent high school English grades (mature applicants) or if your high school grade does not meet our program requirement you may still qualify for a program by writing an English Skills Assessments for Admission.

To book your English Skills Assessment please call (416) 289-5300 (select 1, then 3) or drop in to an Enrolment Services office at any campus.

There is no charge to write the assessment. Results of your assessment are posted within 72 hours. Your assessment is scored according to the college English level that you are ready to enter. For example, if you score 160, you may enter ENGL 160.
