Advertising Account Management Grad is 'One to Watch' According to Marketing Magazine
Kirstin Bojanowski, a 2007 Advertising Account Management Program graduate was named "One to Watch in 2008" by Marketing Magazine. These "Ones to Watch" are the marketing, advertising and media professionals under 30 who are already having an important impact today and seem destined to have an even greater impact tomorrow. For Bojanowski, the road to the advertising world started at The Centre for Creative Communications, Centennial College. Upon graduating, she began her career at Cundari, a mid-size Toronto agency, as an intern and has since been promoted three times. In addition, she has contributed to curriculum development at Centennial College, is organizing an advertising alumni program at the University of Western Ontario - her other alma mater - and spends what remains of her down time teaching painting workshops and creating and selling her own work. Paul Curtin, group account director at Cundari says "she's aggressive, career-focused and she's a great relationship builder. She' gotten some pretty meaty projects that have required a lot of work and long hours, and she's stayed committed to it." |
Helen Galanis (’06 Advertising Grad) – Marketing’s One to Watch 2006
Helen Galanis, a 2001 Advertising Program grad, was named "One to watch in 2006 by Marketing Magazine. These "Ones to Watch" are the marketing, advertising and media professionals under 30 who are already having an important impact today and seem destined to have an even greater impact tomorrow. Helen graduated from Centennial in the Media Stream but was drawn more to the strategic planning end. She landed her first agency job a s a media planner at Starcom MediaVest Group, then made the jump to the marketer side by joining Canadian Tire three years later. At Canadian Tire she was in charge of campaign planning and creative production. She's led the development of the retailer's spring campaign developed with their agency Taxi. Galanis worked on everything from developing the creative brief to media planning and flew to Chile to shoot their spring campaign. She also played a key role in developing marketing and communication strategies for new products. Cheryl Grishkewich, Managing Director at Taxi says, "Helen has fantastic instincts and really understand what makes a great creative idea as well as the power of a great creative idea." |
Neil Cameron (’98 Advertising Grad)
Neil Cameron, a 1998 Advertising Program grad, was named Strategy Magazine's "Rising Young Media Star" in 2007. Neil is a Media Supervisor at Excelerator Media (Mindshare). He's also had experience in marketing research at the Toronto Sun. His claims to fame all have one thing in common: smart consumer insight paried with uniformly unique and creative media ideas. Cameron helmed the first sampling program on Air Canada flights that had Oral-B Brush-Ups placed on meal trays. Innovative work for 20th Century Fox included mock job postings for Runway magazine to promote The Devil Wears Prada. |
