Sasha Boersma, Program Coordinator
A 10-year veteran of the interactive digital media industry, Sasha is the Program Coordinator of the Centennial College’s Interactive Digital Media post-graduate program, Instructor on marketing and interactive content for the Children’s Entertainment post-graduate program, and a guest lecturer in the Film and Broadcasting diploma program. A graduate of Ryerson University with a BA in Radio and Television Arts and a certificate in Marketing Management, Sasha has lead interactive digital media production teams in the creation of award-winning, internationally-distributed interactive projects for TVOkids.com, Teletoon.com, YTV.com, TVOkids.com, BBC.co.uk, and CartoonNetwork.com. In addition to her work at the Centennial College, Sasha is an independent business consultant to the Canadian interactive industry, advising on the business management of interactive digital media studios, government policy for digital media content, funding proposals to government agencies and project feasibility assessments. Sasha is also active with various industry training initiatives, having spoken to audiences including the Canadian Media Production Association (CMPA), International Game Developer’s Association (IGDA) - Toronto Chapter, and the Law Society of Upper Canada, in addition to being a member of the programming committee for Interactive Ontario’s INplay conference. Philip Krueger
Philip brings over a decade of experience in creating assets for the digital media content industry from his Toronto-based studio. His passion for excellence and his professional experience led to teaching a wide variety of subjects at Centennial College, Fanshawe College, York University and IADT. He received his Bachelor of Fine Art (Hon.) from NSCAD University and a Master of Design from York University. He is inspired by working in a creative industry that continues to push the boundaries of animation, game, film and electronic media. |
Amy Miranda
Amy is passionate about the digital space and whether its Creative, Strategic, Conceptual or Technical, she lives and breathes it. Having worked in all facets of the industry Amy offers a unique multidisciplinary perspective, which is met with an equal degree of humor, creativity and commitment to results. She began her career in the early days of CNN.com in Atlanta and since then, Amy has produced, conceptualized and managed thousands of large-scale online campaigns, applications and solutions ranging from frequency programs to ecommerce sites. She now draws on over 12 years of Interactive, Creative, and Operations experience delivering internationally award-winning digital solutions. Amyʼs work has garnered her multiple Gold Cannes Cyber lions, One Show Pencils, and industry recognition for quality and results. Her ability to assess, strategize and implement, coupled with her eye for talent and passion for creative has made her one of the best known interactive producers in North America. |
Andrew Lane
Andrew Lane is an entrepreneur, a strategist, a marketer, an educator and a business person focused in the brand and digital content spaces. In previous lives Andrew has worked on numerous international award-winning and critically-acclaimed multi-platform projects, always with a strong focus on delivering the highest quality content to niche audiences while driving business results. In addition to building the Canadian digital team for the world's largest PR firm, Weber Shandwick, Andrew works as an independent consultant and digital strategist through his own strategic consulting business, nitch*. Key focuses include branded entertainment, strategic partnerships and digital content strategy. Andrew has been featured on panels and in lectures with notable organizations such as Achilles Media, Humber College, Women in Film and Television, Interactive Ontario, the Canadian Hockey League and the Saskatchewan Film and Television Producers Association. He also serves as an Industry Advisor for both the Bell Fund as well as the Ontario Media Development Corporation. Some people say being a jack of all trades isn't a good thing to be. They say being ok at a bunch of things but not specializing in a specific area will keep you from going far. Rick believes they are missing the point. |
Juan Hernadez
Juan is a designer & motion graphic artist who works with a broad range of clients from arts and media, advertising, marketing, publishing and social media. Juan holds a BA in Design & Commercial Arts from the Art Institute International and a diploma in Digital Animation from Centennial College. He has over 8 years of experience as a designer / art director but motion graphics and design are his passion. Juan has been responsible for conceptual development and the execution of creative interactive campaigns for clients such as Acer, Firestone and Konica Minolta. These responsibilities include creating and communicating concepts, implementing marketing strategies and developing interactive and broadcast design solutions. |
Rick Mason
Rick can program a backend interface, bring it to life on the front end, edit images in Photoshop, edit video and prepare it for delivery, write project proposals. He may not be an expert at any of these things, but he does them well and quickly learns whatever I need to get the job done. Drop him into a team of specialists and he'll be sure to bring the very best from each person involved. Rick is currently the lead developer for NOWToronto.com, handling all the backend development, systems integration and programming. What Rick really wants is to help bring people together to learn, share and experiment. That's why he's Technical Director at FITC - it's the perfect outlet for this need. |
Spencer Saunders
Spencer comes from a diverse background that includes a variety of new media endeavours, including production and post-production in both film and television, photography, and print design for both corporate and non-profit clientele. He has shown his film and video work throughout Canada, and has facilitated workshops on video production & post-production as well as all aspects of web development from coding to design. After completing a BFA in New Media at Ryerson University in 2001, Spencer started Communicate New Media, which has since grown to provide a variety of web development services and solutions specific to the online marketing industry. S pecialties include interface design and development, online promotion consulting and implementation, Internet application development, content management solutions and usability consulting. High profile clients include Coke, Rogers, GM, Hbc, Loblaw Companies Limited, Deloitte and GlaxoSmithKline. Spencer's current area of interest is in data visualization systems and explorations in interface design. |
Ted Snell
Ted Snell is a new media instructor, producer and developer. He has worked in a production, training and project management capacity in a number of areas including New Media, Publishing and Marketing in both the Corporate and Not-for-Profit sectors. He enjoys writing, producing and developing web sites, print material and digital video projects. Ted is currently an instructor at both Centennial and George Brown Colleges where he teaches the Adobe Creative Suite 4 (CS4), New Media Communications, Design and Layout for Print, Internet Marketing, eBusiness, User-Centred Design and Usability and Business Applications (Microsoft Office including Project and Access). He is currently enrolled in a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) program. When not teaching or studying, Ted continues to work in New Media for a variety of clients in the Greater Toronto Area. |
