Colette Brochu, Program Coordinator
Colette Brochu has over 16 years experience in developing and executing advertising and media campaigns for well renowned Canadian companies in a variety of industries. She has held senior roles in the television industry working for two major Canadian Stations: CBC Television and W Network. She has a strong background in both the print and broadcast side of the advertising business and has taught at other Ontario Colleges and is now exclusively teaching at Centennial College. Dean Cowell
Dean Cowell spent 18 years in advertising agencies working on the account management/marketing side of the business in a variety of industries including banking, retail, foodservice, and confectionary, with a focus on packaged goods. Dean helped develop advertising plans for brands like Caramilk (he knows how they get the caramel in the Caramilk bar), Ralston Purina and Philadelphia Cream Cheese (worked on the ‘made in Canada' now global, award winning "Heaven" campaign). Dean also managed a team responsible for a highly successful Integrated Marketing program for the Nabob Coffee Company. Dean is one of three full time Professors in the Advertising Department teaching, among other courses: Marketing, Integrated Marketing, Account Management and Advertising Issues |
Jef Comdon
Since beginning his career in advertising media 17 years ago, fresh from the Centennial College Advertising-Creative program, Jef has worked at a wide array of agencies both large and small, on countless world class brands in categories that that range from fast food to automotive to telecommunications to the beer industry, with a bit of agricultural and pharmaceutical in there for good measure. Jef is an award winning communication strategist, who loves solving problems, engaging consumers and selling more products. Jef teaches Connection Planning and enjoys sharing his passion for the communications business. |
David Chalmers
David Chalmers has been active in the consumer marketing world for over 30 years. He began his career at the international research company, A. C. Neilsen, before turning to communications. In 25 years with Leo Burnett Advertising, where he became an Executive Vice President and Client Services Director, David gained experience with, and insight into, every area of communications. He has successfully led programs for many high profile, strategically driven, national and international clients including Bell, Pepsi Cola, Kellogg's, P&G, Pillsbury Green Giant, VISA, Nintendo, Wrigley, Carter-Horner, and Signature Vacations. More recently he has partnered in a venture to help clients market to the Boomer target group-Boomers Marketing. He is combining this communications consulting business with teaching Account Management Practices and Advertising Planning/Campaign Management at Centennial College. |
Michelle Gallagher
Michelle Gallagher has over 15 years of research experience, in the Television, Newspaper, and Magazine industries. She currently holds the position of Senior Research Analyst at Quebecor Media for both TVA and SUN TV. Michelle has worked for Canwest (both print and broadcast), CTV, Teletoon, and Vision Television. Michelle teaches the Media Research Data and Anaylsis course. |
Chris DeCornielle
Chris DeCornielle is an innovative individual with solid teaching and training experience, certified in the advertising industry, possessing more than 23 years of client focused, multifaceted business communications exposure. He has solid experience in: Media buying and planning/ Account Management/ Media Sales/ Presentation and Communication skills. He is presently an entrepreneur designing I.M.C. strategies for clients through his company, Sound Strategies. Chris teaches Business Practices and Portfolio Development. |
Jen Conway
Jen Conway is an accomplished communication planning professional with over 10 years of experience in developing and implementing strategic media plans. During her time as a Strategy Director at SMG United, Jen worked with clients such as Procter & Gamble and Hallmark. Over the course of her career, she worked on a variety of accounts (everything from toothpaste to men’s hair dye) with a niche for packaged goods. Jen has worked very extensively with P&G, including work on business building and award-winning campaigns for brands like CoverGirl, Pantene, Olay and TAG. Jen is proud to be part of the Advertising Media Management faculty teaching Broadcast Buying and Management. |
Travis St. Denis
Travis St. Denis is a graduate of Centennial's Creative Advertising program (media stream) back in 2001. His current role as Communications Strategy Director at Mediaedge:cia has him working on a number of dynamic and challenging clients, including Molson-Coors Canada, where he manages a number of brands and is the Digital/Social Lead across the entire portfolio. Travis’ extensive knowledge of the exciting and ever-evolving interactive communications field is well received by students and faculty. His co-win of the first-ever AdClub Digital Media Planner of the Year makes him an ideal instructor for the Interactive Communications course. |
