Accelerate Your Career in Journalism

In the Joint Journalism program you will combine your studies at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus (UTSC) with applied, hands-on learning at Centennial College and a four-month field placement.

  • You will earn a four-year Bachelor of Arts degree and an Advanced College Diploma in Journalism.
  • You will learn to write and report in an energetic, dynamic and hands-on environment, led by a faculty of journalism professionals and educators.
  • You will talk to newsmakers, while using the latest digital technologies and social media to file stories quickly and accurately.
  • You will develop a portfolio of multimedia content using video, audio and photo galleries.
  • You will publish your own niche magazine and broadcast live with Observer Radio News and Observer TV News.
  • You will experience the adrenaline rush of deadlines as you help produce online and print editions of the Toronto Observer, an award winning community newspaper serving East York and parts of Scarborough!
