Welcome to the Women’s Safety Awareness Web Site & Campaign!

In an effort to raise awareness of safety issues for students, faculty, and staff, Centennial College is proud to launch a campus-wide response to women’s campus safety. The need to create a safe and supportive campus community is both an obligation and a challenge for college administrators, faculty, staff and students. As such, Centennial is pleased to initiate Women’s Safety Awareness in an effort to create a safe and supportive community by enhancing women’s safety and well-being on and off campus.

Awareness, education and prevention are critical components of the Women’s Safety Awareness web site and campaign as are capital improvements and risk reduction efforts. The web site also aims to coordinate victim services, campus safety and security, health services, and available student resources.

The Women’s Safety Awareness campaign was established in November 2006, through the generous financial support of the Women's Campus Safety Program to provide education and awareness of sexual assault, dating/relationship violence, stalking and drug-induced sexual assault. Since 1990, funding has been provided to colleges and universities by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities in a province wide effort to promote a variety of safety initiatives for women on campuses across the province.
