Poppy Beading Workshop

Category: Workshop
Learn how to make beaded poppies with Deanne Hupfield, from the Ojibway Nation. Deanne works as an Indigenous Arts Educator, and is currently developing an online course to help Indigenous learners to make Powwow regalia.
This workshop begins with a discussion about Indigenous histories, worldview discussions, and it is followed by an art activity where students can learn a basic applique beading stitch. They can then use this new skill to make their own beaded poppy.

Circular Economy - Working Toward a Sustainable Future

Students who attended a Short International Program (SIP) in Finland will share with you what they learned about a circular economy and how you can contribute towards a more sustainable future. They teach us about the impact we create from our daily decisions and how we can ensure that we are doing our part. While you’re there, you can also learn about the College’s amazing Global Experience opportunities and how you can get involved.

Students, staff and faculty will be able to learn about some of Europe's finest beers. Price $10 per person, tickets are non-refundable, one ticket purchase per person. Open to all staff, students and faculty. You must be 19+ and bring valid ID to the event.
