JOB TITLE: Graphical Designer

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Graphic/Digital Design
  • Design within brand guidelines to ensure brand compliance, support overall brand identity and strategy, including logos, icons, documents and other asset templates
  • Create compelling concepts and designs for web landing pages and mobile application
  • Create and/or manipulate graphic images/photos
  • Source images as required

POSITION SUMMARY
This position will primarily entail designing mock-ups for the application and system. This will including the initial design.

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must have a strong understanding of design principles and methodologies
  • Must have excellent design, typography, layout and concept visualization skills
  • Able to consistently meet development deadlines
  • Understand how branding guidelines dictate the look and feel of a project
  • Strong concept development and creative collaboration skills
  • Knowledge with web technologies such as CSS3, JS, HTML5 with an understanding of the limitations and opportunities of current web technologies

GOOD TO HAVE SKILLS

  • Experience in design and animation across all platforms (Web/Mobile Applications)
  • A love of design, motion graphics, and storytelling
  • Strong strategic and creative problem solving skills
  • Experience with MAC OSX, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, 3D Animation/Manipulation programs & PowerPoint
  • In-depth knowledge of web/graphic design
  • Familiarity with social media platforms
  • Familiarity with mobile devices including Apple and Android tablets
  • Curious, creative problem solver with the ability to work well under pressure and rise to creative challenges under tight deadlines
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and work to strict deadlines
  • Strong commitment to quality
  • Ongoing commitment to stay current on web design trends and technologies
  • Experience developing for either the Android Mobile or iPhone Mobile Platforms

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS: The applicant must be a former/returning student from Centennial College.

DATES: February 2019 – April 2019

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS:

  • 20 hrs/week during winter semester for 8 weeks
  • $15/hour

Location: Primarily Progress Campus
