Prior to returning to campus for the first time, you must:
- Read and acknowledge the Centennial College Campus Re-Entry Guidelines and Protocols.
- Complete the web-based COVID-19: Basic Safety and Awareness Training Course.
- Complete the Centennial College COVID-19 Pre-Screening Assessment to confirm you are free of symptoms of COVID-19 and can safely return to campus.
- The Pre-Screening Assessment must be completed prior to every visit.
The College has implemented enhanced cleaning protocols and increased the frequency of cleaning at all campuses. Frequently touched surfaces are cleaned three times per day throughout all areas of the College, including sign-in desks at designated campus entry points, entrance doors, door handles, push bars, elevators, handrails, light switches, phones and water filling stations. We’ve also installed more hand sanitizer stations through our campuses, including at designated entry/exit points and common areas, and keep them topped up for those occasions when soap and water are not available.
All students and employees returning to campus will receive two cloth masks upon their first re-entry. Wearing a mask or face covering is now mandatory at all times until directed otherwise by College administrators.
When our child care centres reopened in June, temperature checks were mandatory. However, they were not initially part of our re-entry requirements for students who returned to campus in July to complete their lab requirements, or for the faculty and staff facilitating the labs. As part of our continued efforts to protect the health and safety of our College community, Centennial College will adopt a phased approach to conducting temperature screening upon entry to its campuses. On August 8, we began piloting the Temperature Screening Program at our Morningside campus.
Centennial College Child Care Centres at Progress Campus and East York will be open as of July 2, 2020, with strict adherence to the Ministry of Education guidelines. Once open, the Child Care Centres will conduct their own pre-screening process as stated by Ministry guidelines, with support from the College. If you would like more information on either of our Child Care sites, or to have your name placed on one of our wait lists, please contact Emma Watson at (416)-289-5000 ext. 2288 or at ewatson@centennialcollege.ca
There will be limited food services available on campus. All cafeteria venues, The Local Café and Restaurant, and the CCSAI Union Grill remain closed for the time being. Vending machines offering an assortment of drinks and snacks remain available.
If you are concerned about your health or have symptoms that may potentially be related to COVID-19, do not return to campus. Self-isolate immediately and contact:
- Telehealth at 1-866-797-0000,
- Toronto Public Health at 416-338-7600, or
- Your health care provider.
Click here for Toronto Public Health’s most up-to-date symptom list. Please note that it is our collective responsibility to protect the College community to the best of our ability. Therefore, any failure to report COVID‐19 symptoms or possible exposure will result in immediate removal of access to campus. Further sanctions may be applied under College policy and collective agreements governing work.
