There will be limited food services available on campus, with select cafeteria venues possibly being open with reduced hours if demand warrants. Vending machines offering an assortment of drinks and snacks remain in operation. An increased cleaning schedule will ensure that vending machines are disinfected on a frequent basis. Signage will be posted urging those who purchase from vending machines to clean their hands before and after touching the machines. Common area microwaves will also be available for use, with sanitizing wipes and signage nearby.
All cafeteria common areas remain open with limited capacity to discourage gatherings. Students are encouraged to stay on campus only for the duration of their labs. If a student has more than one lab on the same day and needs to eat a meal or snack, they must follow proper physical distancing, exercise hand hygiene before and after you eat, wear your mask/face covering until you are ready to eat, and replace it when you are finished.
Staff are encouraged to eat their lunches at their desk area where possible. Always practice physical distancing whether you eat at your desk or in a break room. Avoid facing one another. Space yourselves out and remove chairs or tables in break areas to enable 6 feet between diners. Wipe all surfaces, including the table, refrigerator handle, coffee machine, etc. Practice hand hygiene before and after you eat.
Due to COVID-19, all Bookstore retail spaces remain closed to in-person shopping. Textbooks, supplies, materials and Centennial branded clothing remain available for online purchase. Bookstore staff are available to answer questions by phone from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday. Before placing your order online, you may choose to ship the order to your address or use the curbside pick-up program (if the current re-entry Phase permits this service). Should you choose curbside pick-up at the checkout, the Bookstore will update you via email with instructions once the order is ready for pick-up.
All Library facilities and common Learning Centre areas remain closed. Students faculty & staff can access thousands of online resources including eBooks, articles & videos through our Library website. Live support is available through our online chat service, email and phone. Physical books & DVDs can also be borrowed through the Libraries' new Grab & Go pick-up service all 5 campuses. The College continues to offer Chromebooks on loan to support remote learning activities. As there is a limited number of devices, they are loaned only after students have exhausted all other options for obtaining a device. Unfortunately, we cannot ship devices outside Canada. Students who require a device to support their learning from a distance activities should email: email@example.com. To support the health and safety of our campus community, our Athletics and Recreation facilities at all campuses remain closed until further notice.
All on-campus CCSAI operations will remain closed, including the Athletic and Wellness Centre at Progress Campus, all Student Centres, facilities and food services. CCSAI currently offers online events and services only. Access to CCSAI space is limited to Facilities Maintenance and some on-site office employees. Special exceptions to access the facilities may be approved for scenarios where required for lab recovery activities; instructions will be communicated on a case-by-case basis to the appropriate persons.
Centennial College child care centres re-opened on July 2, 2020, with strict adherence to the Ministry of Education guidelines. The child care centres conduct their own pre-screening process as specified by Ministry guidelines, with support from the College.
The Centennial Place Residence at Progress Campus remains open to students electing to live on campus, but all large Centennial Place gatherings and events are postponed for the time being. Where possible, virtual programming will be offered. Common areas such as lounges, kitchens and gyms are closed, and residents cannot have guests on the premises. Physical distancing measures such as signage, floor markings, and barriers have been set-up throughout the facility to ensure a safe distance for all stakeholders. Increased cleaning schedules have also been implemented to ensure high touch points are consistently disinfected. Employees who are not essential to maintaining limited on-site operations will support the Residence through remote work.
The Event Centre will be closed for all internal and external events until further notice.
Student and Registrar services will continue to be offered virtually as there will be no in-person operations at The Hub. Employees will be located near the defined entrance points at each campus to answer questions and concerns relating to labs. Designated prayer rooms will be available at each of our campuses, in accordance with physical distancing guidelines and protocols. Please note that for health and safety reasons, you must bring your own prayer mat(s).
