Meet Josie Chung - Student Blogger

Picture of Josie Chung, student blogger

Hello there! My name is Josie Chung and I am an international student from India. I recently graduated from the Business Administration – Marketing program. As a Centennial student, I have been fortunate to experience the best that Centennial has to offer – from being involved in academics, competitions and the community.

I worked as a Peer Tutor and Peer Mentor in the college and I was also a Campus Director for the Centennial College Student Association Incorporated (CCSAI). In my leadership roles, I had the opportunity to provide my peers with the amazing student experience I have had at Centennial.

I learned not only in the classroom but developed and honed my marketing skills by participating in School of Business competitions like the Ontario College’s Marketing Competition (OCMC), Canadian Marketing Association (CMA) Marketing Case Study and Pearson Canada Goose Case Challenge.

Aside from volunteering my time for School of Business competitions such as the College Case Competition – CGA Ontario (Certified General Accountants ), CIFP (Canadian Institute of Financial Planners) and the OCMC, I am keen on giving back to the community. I have volunteered at the Scarborough Walk of Fame Awards Banquet and also volunteered my services for the Luminato Toronto Festival of Arts and Creativity. It is my belief that community service is an integral part of a business career and I am always looking for opportunities to support my goal of learning and experiencing the Canadian culture.

Not to sound like a total nerd – but I do have fun also! I like travelling, photography and experiencing new food. I love exploring the city and participating in events. Interesting fact – I am Hakka Chinese, and you might have heard about Indian Hakka Chinese food. If you like spicy food, I would recommend you to give it a try!

I am really pleased with the opportunity to be part of the Centennial Blog Team. I have a strong commitment towards academics, student life and contribution to the community. I hope that I will be able to share my experiences with my peers and enhance their learning not only at Centennial but also in their career.

Please feel free to connect with me at chungjo.c@gmail.com.

Cheers!
