National Manufacturing Month across Canada
Did you know that Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters has designated October as National Manufacturing Month across Canada.
According to the Government of Canada Stats “Manufacturing employs close to 1.7 million Canadians, and almost all of these jobs are full-time. Manufacturing sales have bounced back and are up more than 25 percent since the recession”.
CME Ontario is encouraging companies to open their doors and show us that manufacturing is of high value, high tech, high paying and highly skilled.
Throughout the month Companies will be hosting tours of their facilities and students will be demonstrating their manufacturing innovation and creativity through a Made by Canada Student Video Contest.
Here’s how it works:
Students from grade 8 through post-secondary are invited to create a video showcasing how manufacturing in the future will impact the next generation.
Videos should be uploaded to YouTube and submitted with the corresponding entry form by October 24, 2014.
The winning entries in each category will receive credit for their winning video across the various Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters web properties and will receive a feature profile in 20/20 magazine, which is read by manufacturing top executives, plant floor managers and manufacturing employees alike, nationwide.
Set yourself apart today and be profiled in Canada’s top trade publication, while at the same time gaining some insight into the growing manufacturing sector.
