Book An Online Proctored Admission Assessment

Book An Online Proctored Admission Assessment

You can write your assessment in your home or any other private environment.

To write your assessment online, all you need is a computer, web camera, and a high-speed internet connection (tablets and Chromebooks are not supported). At the time of your assessment, a live online proctor will provide the necessary software to effectively proctor your test session remotely. After the session is complete, the proctor will remove any remote proctoring software from your computer.

To write your assessment online, please follow these steps:

1. Book your online skills assessment

Centennial College will issue you a testing voucher valid for 30 days. Book your online skills assessment as soon as possible, with the goal of having it completed well before your program begins.

The voucher will be emailed to you within 2 business days after receiving your request.

2. Prepare for the assessment

The best preparation for your assessment is to log in early and be well-rested. We also recommend reviewing the assessment format and complete the study materials relevant to the assessment(s) you will be writing.

3. What to expect during your assessment

The following rules will be in place prior to and during your assessment:

  • Your online proctor will conduct a 360᷾° sweep of the room and workstation, ensuring any unauthorized materials are removed before testing can proceed.
  • Your desk must be clear of any papers, folders, books, cell phones, and electronic equipment. Any whiteboards or blackboards must be erased or covered.
  • Any second monitors must be disabled and turned facing away from you.
  • Any Bluetooth-enabled devices must be disabled.
  • Any allowed items must be communicated in advance to the proctor and you must display them during the room scan. (Ex: Notes, calculators, graphing tools, notes, formulas.)
  • You are not allowed to talk or receive assistance from other people during the exam.
  • Prior to starting the exam, you must close out any open applications including web pages, mail, chat or IM programs.
  • You must comply with all proctor instructions for the live online proctored exam.
  • If the proctor detects any aberrant behaviour (behaviour not in line with the code of ethics/integrity policies/Live Online Proctoring Expectations), the proctor will suspend the exam and refer you back to Centennial College’s Assessment Centre.

Please note:

It is understood that the skills assessment will be conducted and are subjected to the Student Code of Conduct and Academic Honesty and Plagiarism policies. The College has the right to enforce compliance with such prescribed standards through appropriate sanctions or action. Inappropriate behaviour for the policies includes non-return of borrowed college property, damage to property, honesty, and good order. Inappropriate behaviour for the Academic Honesty policy includes cheating, plagiarism, fabrication, misrepresentation, and fraudulent behaviour. Non-compliance with these policies may result in: a delay of admission, a withdrawal of an Offer of Admission, or suspension or expulsion.

4. After your assessment

The Assessment Centre staff will review your results and they will be used by the college for either admission consideration, indicate the need for program upgrading, or to identify the appropriate language or math course that matches your current skill level.
