Virtual Pride 2020
Virtual Pride 2020
Centennial College is proud to celebrate Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex and asexual (2SLGBTQQIA) communities, and all other sexual orientations and genders during Pride Month as a part of our commitment to fostering an inclusive learning, living and working environment. Get Involved!
Join us on June 25 from noon to 1 pm for our first-ever Centennial College Virtual Pride! It’s an opportunity to celebrate 2SLGBTQQIA communities and further our commitment to create more inclusive spaces for all individuals that identify as Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex and asexual. The party will feature:
- messages from our community and entertainment, including drag performances from Centennial’s own Culinary Diva - Devine Darling and local superhero Lucy Flawless;
- opportunities to build connections inside and outside of the College;
- community partners providing resources, information and support for 2SLGBTQQIA staff, students and allies.
Our event will double as a fundraiser! Donations to the COVID-19 Relief Fund for the week of June 22-26 will go towards supporting our 2SLGBTQQIA students in need. Share your supportive comments live on social media, using the hashtag #ShowYourPrideCC
2SLGBTQQIA Student and Employee Community Conversation
Centennial College 2SLGBTQQIA students and employees are invited to come together for a social hour to celebrate Pride Month and build community on June 17 from 11 am to 12 pm. This is a great time to exchange stories, share experiences and show your pride for your community. Organized by Co-Curricular Student Learning and Development - Register by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
Centennial Comes Out – Read the Stories
Centennial Comes Out is a community building initiative for Centennial's 2SLGBTQQIA community members and allies to share coming-out stories and further enhance an inclusive and safer learning, teaching and working environment. Led by Manny Rodrigues, these powerful stories of individual journeys and experiences from our College community can be viewed here. If you are interested in learning more about sharing your story, contact Manny at email@example.com
