Global Citizenship Innovation & Research Fund

The Global Citizenship Innovation & Research Fund (GCIR) is a research-focused fund awarded through a competitive process. The GCIR provides funding for faculty and students to develop and implement research initiatives that examine the principles of global citizenship education, civic action and outcomes of engagement in global citizenship, equity and inclusion. Projects funded under this initiative will provide data to inform College policy, contribute to the growing field of Global Citizenship and Equity and engage the wider College community (staff, students and faculty) in scholarship. To apply for the GCIR Fund or for more information, please contact Tatiana Wugalter at or 416-289-5000, ext. 2083.

Previous GCIR Projects

The first recipient of the Global Citizenship Innovation and Research Fund, SETAS faculty member Mandy Lam, explored gender inequity in STEM, particularly the challenges experienced by female college students in STEM studies. A key aim of the project was to determine ways to empower female college students while they navigate challenges experienced during their pursuit of STEM.
