Eligibility to Travel

As of October 20, 2020, Centennial is a designated learning institution with an approved COVID-19 readiness plan therefore you are eligible to travel as a Centennial student if:

  1. You have a valid Canadian study permit OR a letter of introduction (study permit approval letter) from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) , AND
  2. Your reason for entering Canada is to study

Students meeting the above eligibility will need to understand and comply with Centennial College’s approved entry protocol for international students to ensure your safe transition to Canada. Please continue to the Preparing to Travel section to learn more. 

Please note:

  • It is the discretion of the Canadian border services officers to determine whether your travel is deemed essential and to allow entry to Canada
  • Airline officials will be conducting a health check, and anyone showing symptoms of COVID-19 will not be able to board their flight to Canada
     

Get Your Documents in Order

Before you travel, you need to have a valid study permit or a Letter of Introduction (study permit approval letter) along with other documents. For more information, review the Permits and Visas section.

In addition to the documents you need to bring with you when travelling to Canada, Centennial College will provide you with a supporting letter to present to the border services officer at the Canadian port of entry. We will provide this to you only after you have submitted your:

  1. Valid study permit or a Letter of Introduction (study permit approval letter)
  2. Quarantine plan form
  3. Flight booking details
  4. Country of Residence Survey

Stay in Touch

Centennial recommends that all students coming to Canada download and use the iCent app. This app communicates directly with Centennial and is a great place to upload and store your important documents digitally. It is also where Centennial will connect with you during your 14-day quarantine period to support you as needed. You can download it here for Apple and here for Android.
