Fabricland, Westdale Properties donate $100,000 to support Centennial College’s nursing program
Canadian owned and operated Fabricland, in partnership with Westdale Properties, have provided a generous gift of $100,000 to fund scholarships for future nursing students in the School of Community and Health Studies at Centennial College. The new Scholarship in Nursing will positively impact Centennial’s nursing students by defraying the costs of education as they prepare for their careers as health care professionals.
“Nurses are everyday heroes who provide essential care services to all Ontarians,” says Warren Kimel, CEO of Fabricland. “This gift will ensure future generations of nursing professionals graduate with exceptional skills and knowledge to promote excellence in our health care system.”
Fabricland and property management company Westdale Properties are well known for their long history of philanthropy in Canada. Both companies have supported many initiatives in the areas of arts and culture, health care and education through corporate giving channels. The joint gift will be matched by Centennial College to establish a $200,000 endowed scholarship for nursing students.
“This generous gift from Fabricland and Westdale Properties is essential in ensuring nursing students have the financial means to access a college education,” says Dr. Rahim Karim, Dean of the School of Community and Health Studies. “The scholarship also helps identify and reward the talented individuals who will advance the nursing profession within the health care industry.”
The gift supports the IMPACT Campaign, Centennial’s most comprehensive fundraising campaign in its 50-year history. The campaign was established to raise funds for two priorities set by Ontario’s first college: capital projects and student scholarships.
