Description:

This course builds on the practice skills and theoretical knowledge learned in SSWR204-Preparation for Practice.Through in class delivery, students will further examine theories and skills that inform practice at micro, mezzo and macro levels.In addition, students will further their assessment skills in areas of risk, needs and resiliency assessments.This course will also provide students with an IPE (Interprofessional Education) curricular experience and integrate important self-care strategies throughout.Critical reflection and application of theory to field practice experiences will be utilized to inform the development of advanced competencies.

Course Learning Outcomes:

  1. Critically analyze practice skills and theoretical knowledge in relation to field placement settings.
  2. To apply advanced practice skills and theoretical knowledge to case studies and in field placement settings.
  3. Demonstrate advanced assessment skills in the areas of risk, needs and resiliency assessment.
  4. Identify and apply self-care strategies.
  5. Participate in an IPE (Interprofessional Education) curricular experience.
