Description:

Work with hand and power tools to carry out aircraft metal forming and riveting in this course. Cover the use of hand tools, cutting machines, rivets, bend and forming machines and precision measuring instruments. Receive practical training in techniques for power and hand drilling, dimpling and counter sinking, riveting and rivet removal, and hand forming. General topics such as bend allowance and corrosion protection complete this specialized course. Prerequisite: Must possess basic math skills, i.e., ability to do fractions, decimals and simple equations Note: You must purchase a 6" steel ruler that is graduated in 16ths, 32nds, and 64ths. Please bring the ruler to the first class! Safety boots and safety goggles must be worn in the lab areas. You will be denied access to labs if you are dressed inappropriately.
